ColorCote® Case Study 9 - Christine and Hans are thrilled with their custom coloured ZR8™ roof.

Christine and Hans Zurne are enjoying retirement at their lifestyle block in North Canterbury.

The Zurnes designed their new four-bedroom home themselves and are justifiably proud of the result. The couple purchased burgundy-coloured powder-coated aluminium joinery in Hokitika and wanted the same colour in a corrugated profile for their home’s hipped roof, not wanting their roof colour to be one seen anywhere else, either.

The Zurnes tried all sorts of roofing companies in Christchurch to get a colour match, without success, until they spoke to Colin Megaw at Roofline Products at Shands Rd in Hornby.

Colin sent a sample of their joinery up to Pacific Coilcoaters in Auckland for colour-matching. The process of getting exactly the right colour for the Zurnes’ roof took a few weeks and cost a bit more than a standard roof, but Christine and Hans are thrilled with their custom-coloured burgundy ColorCote® ZR8™ roof.

Pacific Coilcoaters regularly produces custom-coloured roofing and cladding products for commercial clients – think Mitre 10 Mega orange, The Warehouse red and PlaceMakers blue – and can also provide custom colours roofing and cladding for residential homes and smaller buildings too.

Custom-colouring does command a surcharge on top of the usual cost of a roof and minimum quantities are required, but clients like the Zurnes find it’s worth it as they’re getting the exact colour they want.
